Adult BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) survivors of childhood trauma (ages 25+)

Please join us for a community-based event celebrating National Minority Mental Health Month through mindful activities curated to promote: compassion, connection, curiosity, choice, and care.

Registration:
$65/participant (non- refundable): To promote a peaceful experience registration must be completed online prior to the event. Registration will not be available at the door.
Included: workshop materials, charcuterie supplies, mocktail supplies, light refreshments, and a stress-management swag bag
Parking: When you arrive at the gate please let the parking attendant know you are going to a workshop event at the Chesapeake Room

(Our practice supports organizations that support the community we serve. A portion of all registration proceeds for ‘Space for Joy’ events is donated to a local non-profit organization providing services that improve the lives of BIPOC/LGBTQ+ trauma survivors)

Trauma - Informed Creative Writing (Explore Creativity & Healing Through Writing)
Trauma- Informed Mental Health Coaching (Explore Cognitive Healing & Health Advocacy)
Mindful Hands-On Culinary Experience (Create Your Own Custom Charcuterie Board & Custom Mocktail Through A Guided Experience Led By A Culinary Mindfulness Coach & A Master Mixologist)
Please Note:
We hope to make this workshop as accessible and safe as possible; please notify us if you will require any accommodation or have any food allergies.
Please do not bring any yoga materials to the event; in the spirit of building the capacity to practice yoga at any moment, we will practice from the seat you will be occupying during the workshop.
Doors open at 11am, allowing participants to check in and acclimate to the environment.
The workshop begins at 11:30 am. Participants will not be admitted after this time to promote a safe and peaceful environment.
Though you are free to leave at any time, the workshop is meant to be experienced in its entirety and will flow accordingly. Please make all attempts to be on time and prepared for the full length of this experience.
The workshop includes a 10-minute wellness break between sessions; please listen to your body and feel free to attend to your comfort needs during these breaks and anytime during the workshop.
The workshop ends at 3:30pm. After the workshop, participants are expected to exit the workshop site promptly but are invited to explore the outdoor park as an extension of the mindfulness activities reviewed during the workshop.
